Lake Worth Library Set to Rock this Summer

On June 12 the Lake Worth Library is set to kick off its 2018 Summer Reading Program –Libraries Rock!

The six-week program features special events for Preschoolers (ages 2-4) and school aged children (ages 5-10).

Preschool programs are at 11:00 am in the City Hall Annex at 414 Lucerne Avenue in downtown Lake

Worth. The program repeats, allowing parents to choose which day to attend with their children –

Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. The themes for each week will be centered around classic rock and

roll songs – “Splish Splash I was Takin’ a Bath,” ”Rock Around the Clock,” and “Tutti Frutti.” Each 45

minute program includes playtime, storytime, snacktime, and craft time.

Programs for school aged children will be held in the Library at 15 North M Street on Saturdays from

2:00-3:00 pm. The Six Rockin’ Saturdays themes include Rockin’ Summer Songs, Lego Building, Rock

Painting, Rockin’ the Road, and Rockin’ Our World. We’ll also be investigating the world of rocks, using a

rock tumbler. Each program includes a book talk and craft time.

Sign ups for the Summer Reading Program begin on June 9 th . Each child who registers for this free

program will receive a reading log, bag, and have their picture taken with the “Rock.” Reading logs can

be brought into the Library once a week to be redeemed for a prize.
