Teacher Appreciation Week

May 1st through May 5th

By Joyce April 29, 2017

Monday May 1st through Friday May 5th is Teacher Appreciation Week. This is a great opportunity to show any teachers in your child's life your appreciation for them.
I am so thankful for my children's teachers, one not sure how they do it and two, the things I hear my children have learned that day amaze me. Being a Macaroni Kid Publisher & Photographer gives me the opportunity to volunteer a lot during the day at school. I see a glimpse of what the teachers have on their plate and even in a young grade of 2nd grade, it's a lot.
Everyone is in a different financial situation so whatever you can do would be appreciated by the teacher. I've seen some parents go as far as huge gift baskets with personal things the teachers likes. They probably got that information filled out the beginning of the year by the teacher. Some parents like to get a present from themselves; others are happy to go in on a group present.
When I asked teachers what they would like as a gift the main response I got back was GIFT CARDS! If you know their favorite store that's great, but if you don't know their favorite stores and know they like to drink coffee, a coffee shop gift card would be good. Or practical places like Target or Publix are a fan favorite.

A former teacher, now guidance counselor said" I like Target, Coffee Shops, Yogurt places. It's fun to get them to restaurants or nail salon.
A sincere note from parents and the child."

From a mom and high school teacher "I'd love a creative gift pack of low odor all colors Expo markers, post its, Sharpies, etc. For my children's teachers who are in Elementary I give a gift card".
Other Mom's said CASH!

If you have a room parent and they didn't reach out to the class, maybe send out an email to the parents, remind them of Teacher Appreciation Week and give them some fun ideas the kids can bring in for the teachers. Some parents may not know and would appreciate the reminder.

Remember do what you can, it's honestly the thought that counts. If you are reading this and you are a teacher... THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO, you are shaping our future and you should be very proud.

HAPPY TEACHERS APPRECIATION WEEK!
