Lake Worth Macaroni Kid Happy Family Cooking Event

Thank You Parents For Coming Out!

By Cookbook Giveaway April 9, 2017

Lake Worth Macaroni Kid recently held a private event for local families in the community representing Happy Family Organics. Our theme was all about eating healthy and exercise, thank you My Gym Boynton for allowing the kids to burn some of their endless energy. The Happy Family brand has been around for so many years and parents love it, this was a fun party to have.  Check out some pictures from our event HERE. There are so many options from prenatal to tots make sure to check out all the products on their website

My 8 year old daughter and I started by preparing a couple recipes from the Happy Family Organics Cookbook. They were simple to follow and healthy, which was a recipe for success for us.  My daughter really enjoyed this part with me and asked if we cook more often, next I have to teach her about the clean up part of the cooking session, but luckily the recipes we picked were simple and made a minimal mess.

Lake Worth Macaroni Kid is giving away this fabulous cookbook -- CLICK HERE to enter the easy giveaway. Winner will be announced on Monday April 17th on Lake Worth Macaroni Kid's Facebook page.

-We made the Mac & Cheese found on page 71 in the cookbook, instead of using broccoli we used cauliflower, thought maybe the kids would be more inclined to try it since you really couldn't find the veggie.  This was my first successful attempt of making mac & cheese not from the box. It was so simple and great that I actually knew what we were putting in our meal.
-Our next creation was the Cream Cheese Pinwheels with Bell Peppers found on page 130 in the cookbook. This was the older children and mom's favorite, including mine. What a simple snack, made with whipped cream cheese, bell peppers, and whole wheat tortillas.
-On page 109 there is a mixed melon, turkey & cheese kebabs, this is a great way for the kids to use hand, mouth coordination. We skipped the turkey and cheese since we had lots of cheese in the home made mac & cheese. The kids loved making their own snack.

The pouches and snacks were a huge help for me when my kids were younger. I made as much baby food at home as I could but when the day never seems to have enough time in it, having help is amazing! I love that we have the option to feed our children organic food without stressing about making it all the time.

The event began with the kids playing and meeting some new friends. We then colored chef hats and place mats. We spoke about the great ingredients in the Happy Family Organic products they were able to sample. The kids LOVED all the items they tasted, they tried:
-Soft Baked Oat Bars with Fiber & Protein which are gluten free - Organic Apples & Spinach and Organic Bananas & Carrots
-Super Food Puff - Sweet Potato and Carrots , gluten free & Kale and Spinach
-Super Smart Happy Tot Multi-Grain Alphabet Snacks, Organic Vanilla, Oat and Flaxseed -- My sons favorite!
-Super Foods Happy Tot Puff Ancient Grain Dino Snack with Organic Tomato and Basil & Cheddar
-Happy Baby Organic Teethers - Pea & Spinach - LOVED these when my kids were smaller
-Happy Baby Pouches which are now clear - so you can see what you are feeding the children.
-Happy Tot - Love My Veggies Chickpea Straws - Organic Sweet Potato & Rosemary (75% veggies!) Also tried Organic Cheddar & Spinach - Gluten free

The parents and I loved all the healthy options you can take along with you, most were wrapped individually and the rest you can just throw in your diaper bag or purse.
