When I was just about the celebrate my 17th birthday my mom passed away from Brain Cancer, before this I've never heard of this disease. The woman that worked so hard for my family, went to work before it was light out and came home from work when it was dark out got diagnosed and shortly passed away at the young age of 46. It was devastating to our family to see someone that was so strong suffer. Many years later just after becoming a publisher for the Lake Worth Macaroni Kid edition I saw there was a Brain Cancer 5k in my community. Before this I've never seen a 5k for this cause. My first walk was a bit emotional. I was there with my kids, and felt my mom's spirit with us. They never got to meet their grandma but I always talk about her.

To also see so many people that had family members suffer from this while there were also people there celebrating friends and family who have fought it. It was a great morning, both sad and rewarding.
Please consider joining us, it's a nice family friendly event.
